Jewelry Packaging Size Guide — How to Choose Box & Pouch Sizes
What size jewelry box or pouch do you need? This wholesale size guide shows how to measure jewelry, read PDP size variants, and leave clearance—without inventing site-wide JPM dimension standards. After sizing, route to the live hubs below.
How this page relates to Materials & Pouches vs Boxes
- Jewelry Packaging Materials Guide = which finish ladder (cardboard → velvet → wood → prestige)
- Jewelry Pouches vs Boxes = soft vs rigid format
- This page = measure jewelry → read PDP Size / variant → leave clearance → pick SKU
When sizing is done, browse the Wholesale Jewelry Boxes catalog or email sales@jewelrypackagingmall.com with mm measurements and product URLs.
Measurement checklist (before you order)
Measure the jewelry, not only the “usual” category
- Ring: outer diameter / height of setting; note tall stone or wide shank
- Earrings: drop length + width when worn flat
- Pendant / necklace: pendant height × width; chain bulk if packed with pendant
- Bracelet / bangle: inner diameter or open length + thickness
- Multi-piece sets: measure the largest piece that must fit in one pack
Tools
Use a soft tape or calipers and record mm (inches optional) so you can match PDP labels. For customer finger/wrist fitting—not packaging cavity checks—see Wholesale Jewelry Measuring Tools.
Clearance mindset (why “exact fit” fails)
- Leave room for insert / foam / cotton / tissue so metal does not scrape walls
- Tall prongs and hinged lids need vertical clearance
- Soft pouches stretch slightly, but drawstring openings still need a workable mouth size
- Outer mailers need room for the inner box/pouch + void fill—do not size the mailer to bare jewelry alone
How to read PDP size & variant labels
- Prefer the product’s Size option text and any Size line in the description over guessing from photos
- Named variants (e.g. “Ring Box,” “Pendant Box”) are style labels—confirm mm on the same PDP when listed
- Pack counts (e.g. 30 pcs / 50 pcs) are quantity, not cavity size
- When unsure, email sales@jewelrypackagingmall.com with jewelry mm + product URL
Example sizes from live JPM products (cite PDP text only)
Drawstring pouches — String Microfiber & String Velvet
String Microfiber Pouch Size options include: Size 1) 50*90mm/1.96’’x3.54’’, Size 2) 70*90mm/2.75’’x3.54’’, Size 3) 80*100mm/3.14’’x3.93’’, Size 5) 100*150mm/3.93’’x5.9’’, Size 6) 130*180mm/5.11’’x7.08’’ (re-check the live PDP; Size 4 labeling on this SKU has duplicated Size 3 text historically).
String Velvet Pouch Size options include Size 1) 50*90mm through Size 6) 130*180mm, including Size 4) 90*120mm/3.54’’x4.72’’. Use smaller sizes for rings/earrings trials; larger for bracelets/chains—still leave clearance.
Cardboard & named velvet collections
Crafted Elegance Cardboard Boxes — PDP size lines include 80x80x35mm/3.14" x 3.14" x 1.37" and 120x90x145mm/4.72" x 3.54" x 5.7" (match Drawer vs Matching style on the PDP).
MacDonnell Velvet Box Collection — Size variants: Ring Box, Large Ring Box, Couple Rings Box, Pendant Box, Bangle Box; description mm examples include lines such as 49*43*45mm and 109*90*56 mm—always re-read the PDP for the variant you pick.
Zetland Velvet Double Rings Box — PDP size line: 39*76*46mm / 1.5'' x 2.9'' x 1.8''.
Outer mailers
Black Kraft Mailers Boxes — Size options in mm, e.g. 130x80x25mm, 150x100x40mm, 200x140x40mm, 250x200x70mm, 300x200x60mm (full list on PDP). Size the mailer to the inner pack, not bare jewelry. Pattern deep-dive: Wholesale Jewelry Shipping Kits.

Worked example workflow
Suppose you ship a statement pendant with chain. Measure pendant height × width and note chain bulk if packed together. Open a pouch PDP (for example String Velvet) and pick a Size option whose mm listing exceeds those dimensions with drawstring clearance. If the gift presentation needs a rigid box, open MacDonnell or Crafted Elegance, match a named variant or mm line, then size a kraft mailer to the outer dimensions of that closed box plus void fill. Record the three SKUs and mm notes for reorder—do not rely on photo scale alone.
For engagement rings, start on Wholesale Ring Boxes, confirm cavity height for tall settings, then step to mailers only after the presentation box is locked. Bridal occasion context stays on the bridal guide; this page stays size-first.
Jewelry packaging size guide FAQ
What size jewelry box do I need?
Measure the jewelry (and any insert) in mm, then match the PDP Size or variant label with clearance for the lid and cushioning. JPM does not publish one site-wide standard size chart—use each product’s own size text.
How do I choose a jewelry pouch size?
Compare your piece’s length × width to the pouch Size options on the PDP (for example String Microfiber and String Velvet list mm sizes such as 50×90mm up to 130×180mm). Leave room for the drawstring opening and soft wrap.
Are MacDonnell “Ring Box” and “Pendant Box” the same dimensions?
No—those are named Size variants on the MacDonnell collection. Read the mm lines on that product page for the variant you select before ordering.
How should I size a kraft mailer for jewelry?
Size the mailer to the inner box or pouch plus void fill. Kraft Mailers Boxes list many mm options (for example 130×80×25mm and larger)—pick after you know the outer dimensions of the packed unit.
Where do I go after I know the size?
Use Wholesale Ring Boxes, Pouches, Cardboard, or Velvet hubs for category depth; Materials Guide and Pouches vs Boxes for finish/format; Measuring Tools if you need ring/bracelet sizers for fitting customers.
